Signs
Cooper is enamored with signage. He is extremely curious and is constantly asking what every sign he sees says or means. He asks about road signs and additionally wants to know what the "arrow" means" on any sign that he sees. In the car on the way to swimming lessons he saw a sign on the side of the road that said, "Free Kittens". Cooper was so excited and said, "I want a kitten". We had to explain that Mommy has an allergy to cats, so we are not able to have any cats in the house. Darcy, who had a reaction/allergy to something that we attributed to strawberries, then piped in, "Remember, I am allergic to strawberries". Cooper not sure what to think said, "Are we going to eat the kitten"?
Fatigue
Kids are exhausting and some of the best advice we received when our triplets were born was sleep when your kids sleep. It was great advice in those first months and still holds true. Today, Audrey mentioned for all to hear mentioned that she is so tired. Darcy responded, by saying, "Maybe it was because you watched that movie after you put us to bed".
Haircut
Showering after a recent haircut, I asked our daughter Darcy if she liked my haircut. Darcy looked at me and said,"Why didn't you cut these hairs"? and pointed to my chest.
Friends
We were going out to dinner as a family and we were on our way to get two of my friends. I made an announcement to the car that we were going to pick up two of Daddy's friends for dinner. Darcy looked at me and asked, "Why you only have two friends Daddy?"
Freedom of Speech
The other day, the whole family was walking out of the gym while it was raining. Ahead of us a group of people were huddled together for shelter talking and smoking in the parking lot. On the way, I said to Audrey, "People smoking, let's go quick, it stinks". On our way past Cooper cheerfully says,"Hello SSMMMMMOKERS", and gives them a big wave. They also thought it was funny and told the kids they should not smoke.
