Cooperisms
All the kids say very funny things. Cooper recently came up with a couple of funny ones.
Cooper loves cars and recently received two remote controlled cars which he loves to drive. The other day he was reading a book with Audrey saw a picture of a Formula One car. It was love at first site and immediately Cooper decided this was something he had to have. He asked Audrey if she could get him the car. She explained that it was a lot of money. Cooper shot back with, "we have lots of money". Audrey, a little shocked, pressed him to explain. Cooper said, "There is lots of money in our truck". Audrey explained that this money was for emergencies. Without missing a beat, Cooper came back with, "We have lots of money in the Tzedakah box". I guess the concept where the money goes after we put it in the Tzedakah box is still not clear.
Cooper loves his little sister Avery but he does not like her playing with his toys, cars and trains - she tends to be more of a destroyer than a creator. As such he often "blocks" Avery from the train set, or from areas where he wants to play. Audrey was discussing the new baby with Cooper, to get him ready. She mentioned that she will go to the hospital and the baby will come out of her tummy. Cooper then asked, if Avery was going back in?
Cooper still frustrates Audrey and I at mealtime as he refuses to eat. He is immune to threasts and rewards are of no use. One evening Audrey was trying to get Cooper to eat and was all serious explaining the importance of eating to grow big and strong. Cooper held her stare and focused in attentively. Audrey continued her dialogue on the virtues of eating. Cooper's brows furrowed as Audrey was obviously upset with the meal. Their gazes were locked. Cooper looked at Audrey and said, " Mommy..... Mommy (pause), ...you have blue eyes".
While in the car Darcy sneezed. Stealing a line from the old Seinfeld television series, rather than say, "Bless you", I said, "Darcy, You are so good looking". After a short pause, I thought I should not leave anyone out, so I then said, "Bryce, you are so good looking . Cooper,
you are so good looking . Avery, you are so good looking. Mommy,
you are so good looking . Then there was a pause and I was thinking is anyone going to say anything about Daddy. I waited only a few seconds before Cooper piped in and said, "Daddy, you are so...funny."?!?!? arrrgh
